In its ninth year, SpringFest continues to grow and 2010 will not disappoint! A significant fundraising initiative of the Rotary Club of Ballarat, SpringFest has been created to benefit the local Ballarat community, with many not-for-profit and community organisations continuing to prosper with the assistance from SpringFest-raised funds over the years.

This fun and exciting festival is filled with a fantastic array of events during the months of Spring which will be sure to please!

2009 Springfest Ambassador

It is with great pleasure that the Rotary Club of Ballarat introduce radio announcer and local identity; Mike Cooper as the 2009 Bendigo Bank SpringFest Season of Events Ambassador.

Mike’s 30 year career in radio started as a production engineer at 3AK Beautiful Music in Melbourne but he longed to entertain listeners with his own program in front of the mic.

He spent a number of years at 2TM in Tamworth before coming back closer to home in Victoria where he has spent the last 28 years in Ballarat and has been associated with 3BA almost as long.

Married with four children,Mike along with his family certainly call Ballarat home .

There have been many highlights in his career both in radio and television , in 2001 he was honoured with a national radio award for best Provincial radio talkback presenter in Australia and has had the opportunity of talking to many well known names in all walks of life and continues to do so as the presenter of the Ballarat Today program on 3BA.

Mike feels very honoured to have been given the role of the 2009 Springfest Ambassador and hopes to help promote springfest across the western district.

He believes Springfest is a very important time for Ballarat not only because it brings people together with its many events culminating in Market Sunday but also financially helps many worthy charitable organisations through the Rotary Club Of Ballarat.
